Dipolog Diving
Among spectacular and world-class diving havens in the Philippine Islands is found northwest of Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao. Dipolog, a coastal City, is rich in white sand beachfronts, glistening blue seas, and revealing dive sites. Thus, the popular term 'Dipolog Diving.'
Dakak is famous with many foreign tourists and dive enthusiasts for its peculiar bay shape, pristine beaches, and wonderful undersea world. And Dipolog's Dakak area is just one among many sea treasures that the coastal city harbors. There are countless beautiful Dipolog diving areas that deserve mention here.
Liuay Rock is one, a Dipolog Diving haven which reveals wonders at a shallow depth. This is very ideal for novice divers. Starfish and amazing coral species are scattered in the area along with remarkable nudi branches and invertebrates. The Caves is also a Dipolog diving site where puffers and soldier fish, plus a number of sweepers, abound.
We simply have to see the Mushroom Wall if we're after spectacular Dipolog diving treasures. At a depth of merely 10 feet we see groups of fan corals, interesting crevices, hard corals, reef fish, and rock ledges all the way to 60 feet. The Gardens is also a must-see Dipolog diving site with its amazing sprawl of corals, coral heads, and a slope covered with soft corals.
Cesar's Reef is also rewarding. It's a small reef but the creatures that dwell there are huge napoleon wrasses, parrot fish, and big tunas. From time to time there are surgeon fish and barracudas loitering around. And a special Dipolog diving feature is called The Wreck where sunken ships and vessels marooned at a depth of 180 feet have become coral and reef sanctuaries providing safe dwellings for reef fishes and other undersea creatures.
Octopus Wall is also fascinating with its peculiar coral growths, tubastrea, sponges, scorpionfish, and other fish species hiding in strange-looking rock coverings. Another Dipolog diving wonder, and which is strictly for experts divers, is Buchok's Reef where sharks and rays appear.
The rest, like Romy's Reef and Eskuelahan, are some of the marine life marvels that make up the world renowned Dipolog diving places more people are excited to see. And this is not to mention the fantastic diving sanctuaries of Aliguay, the Selinog and Pinahon Islands, and the seaside of Tag-ulo Village.
Dipolog City is more exciting and stirring with its numerous and tantalizing Dipolog diving sites that put the city on the world map more clearly. However, to get a better idea, Dipolog diving is better experienced than read about.
